A Word from the Editor: Celebrating Five Years of Wonder

Dear friends of éditions Leal Torres,

As some of you may remember, Librairie Métamorphoses welcomed us on Thursday, December 17, 2020, to celebrate the launch of Le Gardeur de troupeaux, our very first publication. On that special evening, we presented this book and shared our vision for the future of our fledgling publishing house in a joyful atmosphere.

Four books, four inspiring adventures

The genesis of éditions Leal Torres coincides with the creation of this unique book featuring an original translation of Fernando Pessoa's work by Patrick Quillier. In Le Gardeur de troupeaux, the poems of Master Caeiro invite us to look at the world through the eyes of a child. They dialogue with original watercolours by Gérard Traquandi, and both teach us how to look, to listen, and to marvel at the world.

Since, our publishing house has released three other books: Les Cygnes sauvages in 2022, Für Ingeborg Bachmann in 2023, and Le hautbois de Delphes in 2024. The creation of each book was a wonderful adventure that benefited from the unique contributions of men and women dedicated to their art and to the transmission of their valuable know-how. Each volume was the materialization of that pure joy of creation, the one that drives us to share a new idea, an intimate emotion, with the reader of today and tomorrow.

It is a great privilege for us to have been able to share these five years with you.

A celebration at Librairie Métamorphoses

To celebrate these five years of encounters, sharing, discovery, and creation, we invite you once again to Librairie Métamorphoses (17 Rue Jacob, 75006 Paris) on Thursday, December 11, 2025, as of 6:00 PM. This evening will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect or make new acquaintances, to revisit our publications, and for our team to present our ongoing projects, set to be published in 2026 and 2027.
